Blue Note App for the iPad

leave a comment »

Photographers have ears too, not just eyes; and so, this might be of interest–in the US and in the UK, Blue Note Records has launched an amazing new jazz-oriented music app for the iPad. (And because it’s beautifully designed with tiles of fantastic original album art, it happens to be also a feast for the eyes).

The app, which has been developed by Groovebug, offers a rich and immersive way of discovering and enjoying classic jazz recordings from the legendary Blue Note. It features a deep catalogue of seminal tracks to stream and a wealth of interactive content from iconic Blue Note artists such as Wayne Shorter, Dexter Gordon and Art Blakey.

If you have an iPad and you are a jazz aficianado, or even if you are in the stage of discovering jazz, this is so worth it. I hope they come up with a similar app for the iPhone and the Mac.
